Spontaneous interactions
strengthens communities

We live in a time defined by convenience, efficiency, and constant digital connectivity. Through our phones and the internet, any service we may need is available at all times with just a click. In the service industry, self-service technologies are accelerating this shift, substituting human contact with automated, robot-based interactions. These technologies make us more independent, but they also make us lonelier. It is becoming less common to start a spontaneous conversation with a stranger or to ask for a favour, even from our own friends
and family.
This project’s purpose is not to claim that automation shouldn’t exist. Instead, we must remain aware of its social impact and remember that seeking help connects us, and connection is a collective strength. Keep this issue in mind in your daily life, remember that the cost of convenience is often the loss of human connection.

Society is becoming
increasingly
individualistic

To raise awareness around this issue, variations of posters with provocative statements were created and placed around the city. Vinyl stickers with the same messages were also applied to public park benches, encouraging people to remember the topic and motivating them to engage with others in public spaces.
The campaing’s visual identity uses vibrant colours and textures inspired by the static lines of old television screens and early digital displays. Overall, the aesthetic is heavily inspired by vintage computers, a time when technology already existed, but people were not yet dependent on it.
